As a lot of bands and performers continue to surge  out of the San Francisco Bay Area, there's always some that do it with a twist.Sven Soderlund, San Francisco Native son is another noted example of that and will celebrate 40 years of playing live here in the Bay Area since Feb 1985 as a guitarist in several heavy metal bands.

Newly fresh to the mic stand fronting a sometimes 17 piece orchestra, Sven has found his sound he thought about as a young child besides holding a guitar. "I always thought since my Mom was a singer and I knew that it was there by singing next to her on the piano bench that someday I wanted to front a band or orchestra. 8 years ago to the month of Jan 2017 Sven's motivation doing exactly what his ideas were as a kid came into fruition.

With a rock & roll, metal, & R&B influence growing up in the Outer Mission/Noe Valley district, Sven had a very diverse musical upbringing hanging out with rockers & gangsters your mother would force you not to hang out with. "It gave me street smarts and also a plethora of music tastes that I wouldn't change for anything.

"Big band & swing seemed to work with my vocal direction and now its becoming more popular in the last few years amongst younger people which is an awesome thing. I will continue to record and perform as many gigs as I can to just live the dream like the rest of us up on stage.

​Sven will be releasing his 2nd single soon and full length album in the summer of 2025.
