Head of Security – Cafe Du Nord
Cafe Du Nord is looking to hire a Part Time – Head of Security. This venue has been a place of music and entertainment for the last 115 years. We are a music venue and private event space with premium sound and lighting and an incredible staff. We’re looking for a great candidate to join us as our Head of Security.
ROLE
○ The ideal candidate has on-the-ground events or live music/entertainment experience and is able to communicate across various event disciplines and departments. The candidate will be encouraged to develop new systems and ideas to help the venue operate more efficiently. Must work well under pressure and be comfortable making quick and creative decisions.
WHAT THIS ROLE WILL DO
○ Ensure safety of guests
○ Train employees on valid ID Check
○ Resolve conflict and de escalate
○ Manage security during shows and private events
○ Security scheduling and coverage
WHAT THIS PERSON WILL BRING
○ Strong desire to learn and grow.
○ Excellent leadership, communication and administrative skills
○ Experience as security in hospitality industry (preferred)
○ Be a self-motivated individual who possesses a “roll up the sleeves attitude” and a “hands-on” style, as well as the aptitude to thrive in a fast-paced, results oriented environment
○ Ability to make decisions; sometimes with limited information.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS / WORKING ENVIRONMENT
○ Fast-paced work environment – often loud (this is a music venue) ○ Extended periods of standing, lifting, bending, and reaching
○ Flexible Schedule (days/nights, late hours, weekends, and holidays)
