FKA Plum, Plummet’s emotionally direct sound draws as much from ambient music and noise as it does from more familiar forms of alternative rock. Based in Oakland, the trio of Jon Wilcox (vocals/guitar), Alex Liebman-Peláez (drums) and Luc Le Pottier (bass) communicates intensity through minimal arrangements, duration, and dynamics. Their debut record, No Offering (April 2026), finds autobiographical songs of memory and struggle submerged in extended drones and reverberant space.
San Francisco/Oakland-based UFO Baby is chasing a sound both familiar and new, each song inching towards an evolving vision. Influences range from Stereolab to Syd Barrett, from Les Rallizes Dénudés to Ennio Morricone. Songs inspired by identity, nonsense, Sun Ra, mental health, and anything in between. UFO Baby invites you to wind down, hop on, and ascend.
Once described as the love child of Christie McVie and Herb Alpert, singer-songwriter and trumpeter Anna Hillburg has spent several years making music in the Bay Area. In addition to her own work she has contributed to acts such as Shannon and The Clams, The Dodos, The Moore Brothers, Will Sprott, Dream Date, Greg Ashley, Shannon Shaw and her All Star Buddy Band, and more. She spent her teenage years playing with the All American Band at Knott’s Berry Farm in Buena Park, California. She came to the Bay Area to study music at UC Berkeley, where she was a member of the University’s symphony. After graduating she toured with several different bands in the US and Europe.
Hillburg has released three solo albums, self titled (2013), “Really Real” (2018), and most recently Tired Girls (2023) on Speakeasy Studios SF. The songs of Tired Girls were conceived during the pandemic, while Hillburg found inspiration and a boost of confidence in the face of uncertainty. Hillburg enlisted producer Jason Quever (Papercuts, Beach House, Dean Wareham) along with her all star band featuring members of The Dodos and Chime School to create a rich Chamber Pop album that sonically meshes flawlessly with the feminist themes Tired Girls. In 2025, she released the lauded synth pop EP, Dangerously Impressionable, a collaboration with her partner Bill Rousseau. Drawing inspiration from Madonna to Moroder and everything in between.
Bay area based non-binary artist Asha Wells brings the self assuredness of a classically-trained voice, to the unfettered freedom of the self-taught instrumentalist. Their arrangements are unlimited and yet laboriously braided. forming a cathartic amalgam of art folk and chamber pop with a new age sonic twist.
“Wells’ music is characterized by its diverse range of sonic elements, effortlessly blending electronic beats, lush synths, and organic instrumentation. Their evocative vocals soar over the lush musical landscapes, conveying a wide range of emotions that resonate with listeners on a deep level.” -Viberate
“Splitting the difference between pop and folk with avant garde invention.” -Various Small Flames
