slchld, born Doo Hyuk Jang, is a Korean-Canadian singer-songwriter known for his soulful blend of R&B, lo-fi, and pop. Emerging in 2018, he quickly gained a global following with his heartfelt lyrics and mellow melodies. His standout releases, including my insecurities, not yours (2019) and Blood Lotus Diary (2022), have earned him over 400 million streams.
Unusual Demont
Unusual Demont was indoctrinated by the internet. He spent his formative years exploring cultural and musical nooks that fall slightly outside the comfort zones of most. Hailing from the vanilla, midwest state of Wisconsin, is an accidental rebel and self-described "weirdo", who probably has tabs of ASMR, KPop, and Frank Ocean tracks slowed with extra reverb open at any given time. Not to mention the influence of his grandfather, who played drums and toured the world with the legendary Curtis Mayfield. This eclectic exposure to cultures and subcultures, in lineage and online, has manifested itself in his music. Demont was chosen to be part of Spotify’s inaugural Fresh Finds program, which highlighted independent artists and paired them with producers and songwriters to create an exclusive tracks for Spotify. He was also featured as one of Pigeons & Planes Artists to Watch in 2022. His debut EP 'HUES.' was released in September 2021 and has garnered over 50 million streams. Unusual Demont supported Emotional Oranges Sad Fruit Tour in North America in 2021 and Europe in 2022. He also joined Rayvn Lenae of her Hypnos tour and recently had his first headline show in Brooklyn. His festival appearances include Outside Lands, Summerfest, ACL, Music Midtown Day N Vegas, and Smookin Grooves to date.
But 50 million streams later, Demont found himself in a dark place, struggling both personally and creatively. NIGHTTIME is the first single off his upcoming EP - it’s a powerful track & visual reflecting on the challenging time and his growth through it all. A clearly defined step into the future, it’s an exciting new chapter for Unusual Demont.
